Together Fox and Gail have competed in the National Panorama and Music Festival competitions with the world renowned Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra, they also performed at that famed band’s biannual concerts, Classical Jewels and toured the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Then it was on to Showboat, a cultural entourage that performed at Disney World in Orlando, FL and at Disneyland in Anaheim CA. Now they bring the sounds of the new millennium that departs from the traditional big orchestra sound but still embraces the beautiful tonal quality of the only instrument invented in the 20th century. The group’s repertoire features a sampling of a wide variety of music.
Fox began playing at elementary school level and represented his school in competition for the first time when he was eleven years old. At his high school S.E.P.O.S., he functioned as vice captain of the school band which dominated the Schools’ Panorama competition in the eighties. It was after graduation from S.E.P.O.S. in 1983 that Fox joined All Stars.
Gail was groomed by the well-known steel drum guru, McDonald “Sonny” Redhead. She blossomed as a tenor panist and represented her school as a member of the St. Francois Girls’ College Steel Orchestra in both the Schools’ Panorama and Musical Festival competitions. S.F.G.C. emerged victorious in both events in 1981 and 1983 respectively. She joined Power Stars and performed with them for National Panorama and Festival from 1981 - 1984. Seeking to achieve more musically, she joined All Stars in 1985.
